What flowers do well in stone gardens?

Trying to grow roses

What flowers do well in stone gardens?
Roses are not appropriate plants for a rock garden. Try such plants as sedum; hen and chickens; carpet phlox; Irish or Scotch moss; creeping thyme; basket of gold; snow on the mountain; grecian wind flowers. These will all spread out a bit and fill in the spaces around the rocks. Small varieties of ornamental grasses are also effective in rock gardens. Good luck to you! One of the prettiest gardens you can have is a well-established rock garden.
Reply:Roses need room for their roots so they wouldnt be ideal for your rock garden.

Stone crop or sedum is great as well as creeping phlox.
